Saturday 3rd January, 2026, Helen Gardens, Eastbourne, BN20 7XL
7.30am: Registration opens for both races
8.45am: Registration closes
9am: Both races start
Race HQ will be in Helen Garden, Eastbourne. The runs will start and finish here.
Race numbers must be collected at registration.
There will be plenty of parking at the start/finish line in the nearby residential streets of Eastbourne and on the seafront. Some of this parking is free and some is pay and display. The train station is a 1.5 mile walk from the finish line.
There will be a few toilets available but please turn up ready to run. There wont be changing rooms or a marquee available that we normally have at our events. There will be water available before and after and finish line bags can be left with us if necessary.
The course is almost entirely on long stretches of grass trails but at this time of year it will likely be a little muddy, so please wear shoes with good grip. There is a possibility that the ground could be frozen in which case normal trail shoes with smaller cleats will suffice. There will be an email sent out beforehand with current trail conditions. Please also dress sensibly depending on the weather and be sure to bring a waterproof jacket, warm gloves, hat just incase and also a foldable cup or bottles if you need them. None of this kit is compulsory. This event is cup less and there will not be plastic cups available to drink from at the start, finish or the one Aid Station on the ten mile route. Please also bring warm dry clothes to change into for when you have finished.
The route will be marked with our blue UK Ultra arrows, ground flags and ribbons.
We ask all runners to please not wear earphones during the race. This is purely for Health and Safety reasons when crossing roads, if we try to call and hearing instructions from Marshall’s. As mentioned, if we need to call you for any reason during the race then it is important you can hear your phone. It is not compulsory to carry your phone but always a good idea. Bone Conduction earphones are ok.
Please stay well away from the cliff edges in the first few miles of the race.
There are several road crossings along the route, some of which are very busy and potentially dangerous. It is your responsibility as runners to always navigate these road crossings safely. Please pass along and cross these as you normally would by using the Highway Code and staying on the righthand side against the flow of cars when on country lanes. A few small sections will entail running on country lanes without pavements, so please stay on the right and be cautious. There will be Marshals at these crossings however, but please take your time and be sensible when navigating them.
Please be aware that the race route follows trails, paths and fields that will be shared by other members of the public and livestock. It is very important to be polite, courteous, and kind at all times. Just because you are in an event does not give you priority over them. Please be cautious when running through fields with livestock. Please approach and pass them slowly and cautiously.
There must be absolutely no littering along the course. Anyone seen doing so will be disqualified. There will also be times where the race passes through farmers’ fields with livestock in, and it is essential that all gates are please closed after using them. Failure to do this will obviously mean livestock can potentially escape.
There will be an experienced team of Race Medics available to runners before, during and after the event. There is the possibility due to some locations on the course that the Medical Team might take some time to reach you. In this situation you should call 999.
We have teamed up with photographer Steven Farley of the Graphic Corner Sussex to cover the event. These images will be FREE to all runners and will be available a few days after the event.
Runners will have the choice of leaving their finish line bag at the start area in Helen Garden, Eastbourne where it will remain safe until collected. Please make sure this is labelled before you arrive with your name clearly attached.
There will be 1 Aid Station along the 10 mile route serving water, High 5 gels, coke, sweets (vegan), bananas, crisps, vegan/gluten free polenta cake and Jaffa Cakes. There will not be one on the 10k route.
