The Hibernal Hills 50 mile is our new, season opening race and, is a great one to kick the year off. This is a single looped event starting and finishing at the stunning location of Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire. The stunning route is runnable, but undulating with some bigger, longer hills throughout, and around 6500 ft of climbing. The first 50km of the route is along the picturesque Staunton and Monarchs Ways before working up onto the South Downs Way back towards the finish at QECP. This will form the first part of our new "South Downs Triple Crown" challenge, with the other 2 races being the South Downs 100k, and Winter on the Downs 55 miles. The three races must be completed in a calendar year. This challenge is optional of course.
Permit: Our permits are granted through the ARC (permit pending)
Entries are available on a first come, first served basis and once it is full, they will be closed. No waitlist will be in operation. In order to qualify you must have completed a minimum of a trail marathon within the cutoff time of that race. This must be an official race where the results can be viewed online and must be on similar terrain that will be present on race day ie hilly. A flat towpath marathon for example does not count. This must have been completed within the last 3 years. Entries will close 1 week prior to the race or once entry limits are reached.
Any time up until December 6th you are entitled to a 70% refund. After this time no refunds will be given. The only exception to this is pregnancy. In this case if you inform us before the race you will receive a full refund.
If you can no longer make the event, there is the option of deferring your place to 2026 or transferring it to another runner. This can only be done up until 2 weeks before race day and, not after. Please email neil@ukultra.co.uk if you wish to do either of these.
We want highly competitive races at the sharp end of the fields and, welcome elite runners to come and compete for wins and course records. We do reserve places for elites and have packages in place to help. These are decided on an individual basis by the Race Director. If you are an elite runner and would like to take part then please email neil@ukultra.co.uk.
