The course is best described as rolling hills with some longer steeper climbs. The terrain is made up grass trails, farm tracks, forest paths, and a few small sections of tarmac. It is very runnable and not technical. There is 12000ft of elevation with beautiful views and scenery.
Yes a qualifier is needed. You must have completed a minimum of a 50 mile race within the last four years
This is an overall cutoff time of 34 hours. There are no cutoffs at Aid Stations for the first 47 miles but after this there are cutoff times at each.
There is free camping available, toilets, showers, lots of parking, a large indoor space and a coffee van serving hot food and drinks.
There is plenty of free parking available at Plumpton Racecourse.
There is Plumpton Train Station literally a 400 meter walk from Race HQ.
If travelling by road then Plumpton Racecourse is situated on Plumpton Lane only 1.5 miles off the B2116, and 8 miles from the A23, leaving at the Pyecombe services junction. Our signposted main entrance on Plumpton Lane is 200 yards beyond the bridge on the left (coming from Ditching) and 0.5 miles past the train station (coming through Plumpton Green), up the hill on the right.
There are toilets available at most of the Aid Stations along the route.
There will be 12 very well stocked Aid Stations along the route which are listed below. Aid Stations will carry a wide range of food and drink and will cater for everyone's needs including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. None of or options contain peanuts and all items are nut free baring the lemon drizzle cake which contains almonds. This list is what will be on offer as a minimum:

Yes, you must bring the following and carry it at all times:
Fully charged mobile phone with a charger
Hydration system capable of holding one litre of liquid.
Whistle
Warm gloves
Warm hat
Headlamp (minimum 300 lumens) and backup headlamp (minimum 200 lumens)
Waterproof jacket with a hood and taped seams (10,000 rating minimum)
Base layer (Must be kept dry in race pack and not worn from the start)
A bank card and £50 cash. If you have for example Apple Pay on your phone then this can replace one of these but you must have a payment method and a backup option
The route downloaded to a GPS device or mobile
A high visibility item that can be seen at night. This is essentially so you are visible to drivers when running during darkness nearby roads or crossing them. There are various things such as high vis hats, waist belts, certain running tops etc that are all acceptable. A good example of this would be something you can strap around your arm or ankle.
Yes, there is the option of having two drop bags which will be taken to the Aid Stations at mile 55 and 76 for runners to use. This must be two separate bags.
Runners can leave a bag at the finish to collect which will be kept safe until needed.
Yes, there is live timing and GPS tracking available to follow the runners. This will be available on the website in the days leading up to the event.
Yes, both are allowed. Crews are not allowed at Aid Stations. Pacers are allowed from mile 55.
A bag can be left at registration for when you return to the finish,
There will be an experienced team of race medics available to runners before, during and after the event including first aid teams, response cars and ambulances. There is the possibility due to some locations on the course that the medical team might take some time to reach you. In this situation you should call 999.
